Privacy Policy

Aline Nasseh Artisan Chocolates ("we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information in compliance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What we collect

We collect only the information you give us, and only what we need to run the business:

  • Account & orders: name, email, shipping + billing address, phone (for delivery only), order history, payment confirmation (handled by our payment processor — we never see your card number).
  • Marketing: email + what you've browsed, if you've signed up for the kitchen newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
  • Site analytics: anonymous page views, referrers, device type. We use Plausible Analytics (privacy-first, no personal data, no cookies).
  • Customer support: whatever you send us via email or the contact form. We keep it for as long as it's useful for support, then archive or delete it.

What we do NOT collect

  • We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. Ever.
  • We do not use third-party advertising or remarketing cookies.
  • We do not store your full payment card number. That's handled by Stripe (PCI-DSS Level 1 certified).

Who we share with

We only share your information with the third parties that need it to run the business:

  • Shipping: ShipStation (label printing) and Trexity (local GTA delivery) get your name, address, and phone. That's it.
  • Payment: Stripe processes your card. They get your card details; we get a charge confirmation.
  • Email: Klaviyo sends our newsletter and order confirmations on our behalf. They store your email and engagement.
  • Legal: If we're legally compelled (subpoena, tax audit), we'll share what's required. We'll notify you first unless we're legally prohibited.

Your rights

Under PIPEDA you can:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct anything that's wrong
  • Withdraw consent and have your data deleted (unless we have a legal reason to keep it, like tax records for 7 years)

Cookies

We use a single first-party cookie to remember your cart contents for 30 days. That's it. No advertising cookies, no third-party trackers, no Facebook pixel.

Children's privacy

Our site is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you're a parent and think your child has given us information, email privacy@alinenasseh.com and we'll delete it.

International visitors

If you're visiting from outside Canada, your data will be transferred to and processed in Canada. By using the site, you consent to this transfer.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll email active customers and post a notice on the site at least 30 days before they take effect. The "last updated" date at the top tells you when this version was published.
